Representative Legal Matters
  • Assisted a global consumer goods company in a major restructuring of its trademark and other IP portfolio and in substantially amending its trademark and patent licensing arrangements within the group and with the Russian subsidiary.
  • Assisted one of the major international tobacco groups in substantially changing its licensing structure globally and in Russia, in connection with different types of brands. The project covered more than 500 trademarks.
  • Assisted one of the leading global fast-food restaurant chains in implementing its global strategy and restructuring its business in Russia by re-franchising the client's equity restaurants. The project involved, inter alia, substantial amendment of intercompany licensing arrangements.
  • Advised Inter IKEA Systems B.V. on all issues related to retail store operations as well as launching the client's first e-commerce store in Russia.
  • Performed several IP due diligence investigations for a major Russian state-owned corporation for the purpose of identifying legal risks associated with potential participation in multimillion projects in the nanoindustry.
  • Advised large international companies on issues concerning licensing of trademarks, know-how, inventions and other intellectual property.
  • Advised international and Russian companies on terms of commercial contracts, including contracts in connection with intellectual property, and also on various general matters of commercial and intellectual property laws.
  • Advised a large international automobile company on trademark, patent and trade secret (know-how) licensing issues in connection with franchise arrangements in Russia.
  • Advised a large international company, a manufacturer of coatings and special materials for construction markets, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets, on commercial secrecy issues, protection of know-how, licensing of patents and technologies.
  • Advised a multinational restaurant operating company on franchising issues, trademark assignments and licensing arrangements in Russia and other CIS jurisdictions.
