Yuri Pylnev heads the Patent Division of the Intellectual Property practice group. Yuri specializes in the protection and defence of IP rights, patent law and patent disputes.

Succeeded in defending in the Chamber for Patent Disputes and the IP Court the Gilead Sciences’ Eurasian patent protecting its blockbuster combinatory medication Truvada, effective inter alia for the treatment of HIV, and also the client’s Russian patent protecting its blockbuster antiviral medication Sovaldi (INN Sofosbuvir).

Successfully represented a well-known Korean electronic equipment developer and producer in a patent dispute concerning multiple SIM-card mobile phones.
Represented a well-known multinational producer of personal computers and mobile devices in a long-term complex patent dispute over several claims for infringement of a utility model patent in relation to the SOS function of the phone, and also over a claim for infringement of a patent for an invention in relation to determining the location of a phone by measuring the physical parameters of an electromagnetic signal.
Represented a famous international producer of car fresheners in an abuse-of-right dispute against mala fide manufacturers that had obtained several design patents covering similar products available in the market to use as a defense against trademark infringement. Cancellation of patents based on the similarity of products to the degree of confusion with client’s trademarks.
Facilitated the peaceful settlement of a patent dispute between a large international company in the field of mining equipment and a domestic company developing analogues.
